Chapter 13

“I forgot my towel. I’ll meet you back at the room.” Hannah motioned for Selena to go on without her. They had just finished swimming in the facilities salt water pool, and, with an irritated sigh she turned back towards the pool room to gather her forgotten towel.

She rounded the corner in the hallway and bumped squarely into Will. Her wet body left a damp mark on his shirt and she suppressed a grin. “Will, I’m sorry!”

When he didn’t reply she glanced at him curiously. “Will?”

She sucked in her breath; he was staring at her with a weird combination of fear and lust, and she could feel her body reacting immediately.

She gave him a nervous smile. In the month since she had spent the night with him, Will had acted like they’d never slept together and treated her exactly like he treated the rest of the recruits. The desire she had grown accustomed to seeing whenever he looked at her had completely disappeared, and she had reminded herself repeatedly that it was for the best.

Now, however, it was back and she wasn’t sure what to do.

“Are you purposely trying to drive me crazy, Ms. Torrington?” Will asked softly.

“What?” She stared at him in confusion.

“You bump into me wet and half-naked. Did you do that on purpose?” Now he was almost growling.

She supposed she should have been afraid but instead she found herself flushing with indignation. “No, I certainly did not, Will. I was swimming. I wasn’t aware I needed your permission to walk in the hallway afterwards.”

His brow darkened and he took a step towards her. Despite herself, she took a step backwards. “You should at least get dressed before you start roaming the hallways.”

She looked down at herself. She was wearing a modest bikini with a sheer wrap around her waist. “Oh for God’s sake, you act like I’m walking around in the nude.”

He grabbed her arm and pulled her roughly into the alcove of the door of one of the classrooms. He pinned her up against the door, planting his hands on the door on either side of her head, with his body not quite touching hers. He leaned down and sniffed her neck, inhaling deeply with his eyes closed.

“I could smell you coming down the hallway.” He whispered.

“Then you should have gotten out of my way.” She muttered.

He grinned at her, and she realized he had never looked more wolfish to her than at that moment.

“What are you doing, Will?” She asked quietly.

“What do you mean?” He tilted his head, angling his mouth over hers until their lips were nearly touching.

She swallowed hard. “We agreed not to do this, remember?” Her lower body was starting to ache and throb.

“Do what?” He kissed her jaw and a soft moan escaped from her lips.

“This.” She muttered again. “We agreed that having sex with each other was not a good idea.”

“Did we?” He murmured. He nuzzled his face behind her ear, taking another deep breath of her damp hair and skin.
